    Dry Japanese Head Spa

    Dublin

Inspired by the Japanese tradition of caring for the scalp as carefully as the skin, this dry head spa is a slow, restorative ritual designed to release tension from the head, neck and shoulders and bring you back into your body. Unlike a wet head spa, there is no washing, scalp camera or styling, just deeply intentional touch.

    Frequently asked

What is the difference between a dry and wet head spa?

A dry head spa focuses on scalp massage, pressure point work, and tension release, there is no hair washing, scalp camera, or styling involved. A wet head spa, such as our YUME Head Spa at Blackrock, includes a full scalp treatment with the Takara Belmont Yume bed, scalp camera analysis, washing and conditioning. The dry head spa is a deeply relaxing ritual; the YUME experience is a full clinical scalp treatment.

Do I need to wash my hair before a dry Japanese head spa?

No, but please arrive with loosely-styled, brushed hair. We begin with a slow hair combing step as part of the treatment ritual, arriving with detangled hair means the full treatment time is spent on the massage rather than brushing.

What does a Japanese head spa feel like?

Deeply grounding and restorative. The combination of foot bath, slow hair combing, back massage, scalp pressure work, and gentle neck stretching produces a distinctive quality of calm that is hard to describe, many clients say they feel significantly different by the end of the foot bath alone. If you have never experienced a Japanese head spa treatment, the dry head spa is a beautiful way to begin.
