Eye care & brighter mornings.
What this actually is
The skin around the eye is the thinnest on the face, has fewer oil glands than anywhere else, and moves constantly — somewhere around ten thousand blinks a day. It shows change first, which is why it draws attention out of proportion to its size.
Most of what people want fixed here divides into three, and they have different answers. Puffiness is usually fluid, worse in the morning, and responds to sleep, salt, alcohol and a cold compress far more than to a cream. Dark circles are frequently not pigment at all but shadow — either thin skin showing the vasculature underneath, or hollowing that casts a shadow, both of which are structural and largely inherited. Genuine pigmentation and crepey texture are the parts topical products actually move.
Which means honesty is the useful thing here. A good eye product hydrates thin skin, supports it with peptides or niacinamide, and protects it. It does not drain fluid, it does not fill a hollow, and it will not lighten a shadow cast by bone.
The two habits that outperform any product: sunglasses, and not dragging at the skin when you remove makeup.
A routine that suits it
Where we would start. Build it up one step at a time rather than all at once.
- Remove
Dissolve eye makeup rather than rubbing it off. Most crepiness here is friction over years.
What we use - Treat
A small amount, patted with the ring finger, morning and night. More product is not more result.
What we use - Protect
Sunscreen up to the orbital bone, and sunglasses. The best anti-ageing step for this area is shade.

Frequently asked
- Do I actually need a separate eye cream?
- Not necessarily. If your face moisturiser is comfortable around the eyes, it is doing the job. A dedicated eye product earns its place when you want something lighter for the morning under makeup, richer at night, or targeted at a specific texture change. It is a preference more often than a requirement, and we would rather say that than sell you one.
- Will an eye cream get rid of my dark circles?
- Usually not, and it depends entirely on what is causing them. If it is pigment, a brightening product can genuinely help over months. If it is thin skin showing the vessels beneath, or hollowing casting a shadow, no topical product will change it — that is anatomy, and concealer or a clinical treatment is the honest answer. Pull your lower lid taut: if the darkness stays, it is pigment; if it vanishes, it is shadow.
- What helps puffiness in the morning?
- Sleep, less salt and alcohol the night before, an extra pillow, and something cold. Fluid pools when you are lying flat and moves once you are upright and the day gets going. A chilled product or a metal applicator feels good and helps a little through temperature, not through its ingredients. Persistent one-sided swelling is worth a GP visit rather than a cream.
