When to see a doctor or dermatologist

See your GP or a dermatologist before booking with us if a mark on your skin:

    • is new, or is changing in size, shape or colour
    • bleeds, itches or doesn't heal
    • looks different from your other marks, or you're not sure what it is

We treat how pigmentation looks. We don't diagnose skin conditions, and we won't treat over a mole or a mark we're unsure of.

    Questions

Do I need SPF after IPL?

Yes. Wear SPF 50 every day for at least two weeks after each session.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the treatment and your skin, and results vary. IPL is sold as a course of six, €1,100. Your therapist suggests a plan once they've seen your skin.

    How far apart are sessions?

About four weeks for IPL, PCA peels and microneedling, and about six weeks for Nordlys Frax laser.

Can I have IPL or Nordlys Frax when I'm pregnant?

No. We don't offer IPL or Nordlys Frax during pregnancy, or Nordlys Frax while breastfeeding.

Do I need a patch test?

Some treatments need one first, so ask us before you book. A patch test at Haku is free and takes five minutes in the salon. If there is no reaction after 24 hours, you're clear for the treatment: book it at the desk during the test, or online from 24 hours after.
